Why?

blackberry-brokenWhy does my Blackberry 8100 want to act crazy?  Has my daughter attacked my BB with slob?  I hope not!  Although that would give me a reason to run out and get the new BB Bold to be release by AT&T today?  (And yes, today is Election day.  Just thought I would throw that in so  you would not forget to go exercise your privilege to vote.) Although I don’t plan on buying the phone on today, I will be calling the store to inquire.  Inquiring minds want to know if the phone is actually in the stores.  Call me crazy, but I have been duped by too much false information regarding the release of this phone.  So, no I am not crazy just a little disbelieving at this point.

Will you be purchasing the much awaited BB 9000, better known as the BB Bold?  Are you happy with the price tag?  Chime in with your thoughts…

You asked and now I will answer. Twitterberry is a cool application that merges two addiction into one, twitter and blackberry.  Justly being named, Twitterberry.  If you love  twitter and your blackberry device, then you will absolutely love Twitterberry.

So, how does it work?  Instead of receiving SMS texts, twitterberry actually works over the data network.  Sweet!  There is no need to go out and buy an unlimited text plan just to keep up with all of your tweets. ;)   Plus…it stores 200 of your recent tweets.  I love this feature.  But of course, that’s not all.  Check out these other must have features.

  • TwitterBerry 0.8
    • New look on the post screen
  • TwitterBerry 0.7
    • Smarter network detection support
    • BES connection support, due to popular request!
    • Picture support through www.TwitPic.com.
    • Refresh timelines from current timeline screen
    • Configurable auto-updating of timelines
    • Longer list of tweets: 200 instead of 20
    • Reply to tweets and direct messages
    • Send Direct Messages and view your Direct Message inbox
    • New network indicator dialogs
    • Configuration options moved into the BlackBerry Options screen
    • New shortcuts on all list screens: ‘r’ to reply, and ‘d’ to send a direct message
    • Favorite and Delete tweets from any timeline
    • Allow overflow of 140 characters when typing your tweet
    • Optimize the menu screens so the most commonly used choices are easy to access
    • URLs in tweets can be selected and opened in your BlackBerry Browser
    • User customizable default application entry screen
    • Many other small bug fixes and usability enhancements
  • TwitterBerry 0.6

Twitter

Twitter

I am a recent user of Twitter, a free social networking utility that helps you stay connected with friends and others in real-time.  How cool!  Well since I am new to Twitter, I am still learning of its full networking ability.  Quiet honestly, when I first created my account I was totally oblivious.  It sort of reminds me of “Instant Messaging” on steroids.  Can you believe, that there are people who want you to know what they are doing on a day-to-day, hour-by-hour, or minute-by-minute basis?  I could not believe it!  Basically, the more interesting you are, the more followers you have.  The more followers you have, the more powerful your networking circle becomes.

I also use Twitter on my blackberry via Twitterberry.  I absolutely love it!  If you are a blackberry owner and a twitter user, this is the phone application for you.

If you are smart, then you can use Twitter to network effectively.  Sign up for Twitter.

Blackberry Bold to be released…

Blackberry Bold 9000

Blackberry Bold 9000

If you’re anything like me, you have been watching and waiting for the release of the new Blackberry Bold.  I have been like a child anticipating Christmas day since July.  There has been so many rumors speculating the release date of the much awaited Blackberry 9000.  And guess what?  They have ALL been wrong.  Is it safe to believe the new release date?  I don’t know, but I would REALLY like to believe that this release date is correct.  I can’t take it anymore.  I am about to twist my thumbs off with all of the twiddling.  Come on people, release the phone and save my sanity.  Why?  Oh, why must you cause me anxiety?

Ok.  I admit that I am one of the “Crackberry Addicts”.  I just about lost it the other day, when my husband called AT&T to cancel his data plan for his Samsung BlackJack II and they haphazardly cancelled the wrong one.  What’s a Blackberry without a data plan?  Just another phone.  If you have a blackberry without a data plan, you are missing out on the full potential of this modern day addiction.  Call your wireless provider now and get a data plan!  You can thank me later.

And now the moment we have all been waiting for….AT&T unveils the release date for your new “Crackberry”, the essential upgrade to your current model.  Read more…
